LIGHTING EFFECT OF ELECTRIC CURRENT
LIGHTING EFFECT OF ELECTRIC CURRENT
When electric current passed through the filament of the bulb due to heating effect bulb glows
The space inside the bulb filled with inert gases or vaccum to save the filament from oxidation on heating
In electric bulbs most of the electrical energy wasted in heating effect
FLUORESCENT TUBE:
In fluorescent tube inside walls of the tube coated with fluorescent material called phosphorus
Fluorescent tubes are filled with a low pressure mercury vapour gas
The Gas emits ultraviolet rays which strikes the phosphorus and gives the light
In fluorescent tube metalic wires is not used and there is no loss of energy in heating effect
Compact fluorescent lights (CFL) are a modification of fluorescent tube
CFL emits more light consumes less energy
